The Council of Ministers approves the PERTE of Circular Economy with measures to move towards a more efficient productive system, which allows extending the useful life cycle of goods and products, and reduces the ecological footprint of the economy #RecoveryPlan.
There will be two lines of action:
- Actions in three key sectors (300 million euros).
- Textile and fashion sector.
Objectives: incorporate low-impact raw materials into the sector, promote technologies and infrastructure that facilitate reuse and recycling, as well as promote measures to improve the traceability of products and materials.
- Plastic sector.
Objectives: promote ecodesign, promote the promotion of reusable packaging and promote mechanical and chemical recycling.
- Capital goods for renewable energies.
Objectives: promote the creation of treatment facilities that facilitate the recovery of batteries and valuable materials such as lithium or lithium ion, as well as implement the second life of batteries from electric mobility that can be applied for other uses.
- Cross-cutting actions to promote the circular economy in the company (192 million euros).
They aim to improve the competitiveness and innovation of the industrial fabric in four axes:
- Reduce consumption of virgin raw materials
- Ecodesign
- Waste management
- Digitization
