The INNOAQUA project has been underway since last June .
The INNOAQUA project is one of the recently funded Horizon Europe projects within the Farm-to-Fork strategy. The project began on June 1, 2023 and officially kicked off on June 6 with the first meeting of the consortium, held online. A total of 17 partners from eight countries are participating in the project, led by NORCE Norwegian Research Centre . The full name of the project is “Innovative approaches for an integrated use of algae in sustainable aquaculture practices and high-value food applications”
INNOAQUA aims to pave the way to the EU’s next sustainable and diversified inland aquaculture industry by demonstrating and integrating innovative algae-based feeds and solutions, based on concepts of ecology, circularity and digitalisation.
Sustainn ’s main role in the project is to lead Work Package 5 (Sustainability, Safety and Regulation), whose objective is the evaluation of the socio-economic, sustainability, circularity and safety impacts of the technologies, innovations and products to be developed by the project.
The first annual meeting between INNOAQUA partners took place in Bergen (Norway) from October 10 to 12. The meeting was organized by the project coordinator, NORCE Norwegian Research Centre .
